Bird Feast by maggiemae

Bird Feast

Well I’m starting to realise what my new camera is good for - and what its not! And zoom is not. I used my other camera for this photo. I had put out some fatty bird seed stuff and the birds came in their dozens! My XT20had very good definition and I could crop down for a good photo …but not as good as my HX400V zoom!

But that camera's time needed adjustments.

Three good things:
1. I didn’t trade in my old camera for the new one!
2. The ads on TV in NZ don’t last as long as the ones in North America!
3. The bird food was all gone in 1/2 day! But I got a photo!
Lovely shot , it takes a bit coming to terms and learning a new camera

Your garden has been very popular - the bird telegraph had got round. The colours are so vibrant and you can feel the birds energy as they tuck in. What sort of bird is this? Their eyes are quite startling. Good luck with the new camera.

Funninly enough maggie, I saw this with your name on & thought to myself wow, she has sussed that new camera out already! I must say I do like the photos from your original one. This is so sharp & the colour amazing. Fave. You will get the hang of the other I know you will.

@happypat I've just accepted that if I want zoom with my new camera I have to buy the right lens! Thought I would never be like that! Lenses everywhere!

@sarahlth Thanks Sarah! They are called ''silvereye' or 'ring eye' or 'wax eye' Don't know how the wax got there!
