Today after attempting to bathe in the cold waters of the river and getting a bit put off by the number of boats screaming up and down, John put his towel around him and trod back a few meters to our van.
I was panning with this boat and he suddenly decided to go really fast - not the best but good enough!
Three good things:
1. Moved to a higher place for lunch - a wonderful view over the river - people on ‘biscuits’ skiis and just alone all roaring past.
2. Down the valley towards the coast we settled in the Golf Course 9km out of Oamaru. The rabbits were incredible!
3. Some really good ribeye steaks while drinking red wine and watching the sun set over the distant mountains!
Ooh you aren't far from home! That wash behind that boat shows how that boat shot off, you kept it clear though! John is a brave chap! Bit too cold still I would have thought!

Pretty good, especially when the speed of the boat changed so suddenly. Panning's no picnic even when you're following something travelling at a constant speed. Cool work!
