For the first time I've been able to create this with a longer exposure! I think I will still be able to make it better with a different EV.
Rainbow Falls near Kerikeri in Northland, NZ
Three good things:
1. A good walk to see these Falls
2. Another lovely beach scene
3. Dinner out at 'The Pear Tree" -there is a huge pear tree there that was planted by the first settlers!
Nicely done! I especially love how you caught the colours in the water too! If you use an ND filter you can go back to the manual setting and have even more freedom to slow down the shutter. Fav here.
@stray_shooter I do have a ND filter - no I don't... can't remember what it is - some filter. But its keeping too much light from coming in is the challenge and today I took same photos but -3EV - much better!
@maggiemae I'll be interested is seeing those. ND is neutral density, which loosely translated means "dark." Somewhat akin to putting sunglasses on the camera. What it does is exactly what you're trying to do by reducing the light, thus lengthening the exposure time. Hopefully that's what you've got.
nice silky water collage, did you take a photo of the pear tree and how old is it - around here their life expectancy is about 30 years; but, then again these are cultivated trees
Impressive capture of that spectacular feature. Creating that silky water has been outside my skill range. Must remember to bring a tripod and find a waterfall 8-) Fav
