The Road Ahead by maggiemae

The Road Ahead

The mountains around us were supposed to have received a lot more snow after this cold spell sped through!. We had none but in some parts of NZ, 1000s of lambs were lost! But this is what I saw walking up the road not far from our home!

Three Good Things:
1. My day was the same as yesterday but so much better somehow!
2. Tv is so good for stories e.g… Second Best Marigold Hotel..The most famous actors!
3. Reheated the over cooked cauliflower with fresh baby peas and parsley - jolly good!
What a beauty!

Wonderful capture of the light on the snowy mountain top :)

Love the lighting on the mountains!
September 19th, 2018
What a bad news for the farmers.

I love the scenery around your neck of the woods. The Marigold Hotel pair are just about my favourite movies, especially the first one.
September 19th, 2018
@golftragic I love them too - so much going on and the main characters are old-er!
September 19th, 2018
@yaorenliu That was in the North Island Yao - the lambs in the south come much later in the year to be safe!
September 19th, 2018
Wow you are surrounded by natural beauty!
September 19th, 2018
Sad for the poor farmers.....Glorious capture & I like your 3 things.....

Looks cold down that way

Wonderful view

I love the way the light is hitting the mountains. A beautiful image.
September 19th, 2018
Beautiful scene - the powdery snow looks lovely. Not dangerous from a distance.
September 19th, 2018
@maggiemae I feel the same way too. Of course, anything with Maggie Smith and Judi Dench in is a must-see for me anyway. Did you see the TV series with a similar set of characters checking out retirement possibilities in India, obviously a reality spin-off from the Marigold Hotel/s. I'll find the title and let you know, well worth watching.

@golftragic Love to know...thanks!

A magnificent shot of those beautiful snow topped mountains and light falling on them. Just loved both Marigold Hotels and acting. Your 3 things sound fab too :)
September 19th, 2018
Blissful view, though very sad about all those lambs. I loved both the Marigold Hotel movies too.
September 19th, 2018
Beautiful.
Like three things!
September 19th, 2018
@sarah19 I like to read yours too!
September 19th, 2018
Yuck, snow. Snow, what a great shot
September 19th, 2018
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Your words echo mine - who wants to play in the snow... you only get very wet, very cold, and there are all those others who have lots of money to ski, snowboard or fall into crevasses if they form!
September 19th, 2018
@maggiemae skiing was on my Before Fifty list- best day was when I truanted from ski school, put on snow shoes and with a group built a real igloo. It does look pretty, but I hate the cold.

Lovely shot with snow capped mountains.
I am with Marnie, anything with Judi Dench and Maggie Smith is brilliant.
Have you seen The Four Dames? I saw it at the cinema a few weeks ago.
Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Joan Plowright and Eileen Atkins.
September 19th, 2018
@onewing Ah - thats the one where they all take tea together and discuss themselves! I think I can get this on youtube... not sure!
September 19th, 2018
@maggiemae Yes, just thought it is called Tea with the Dames, isn't it. Hope you can get it on YouTube.
September 19th, 2018
@onewing One of the programs I reaalalally enjoyed was Doc Martin and this is where I first saw Eileen Atkins! She's a Dame now! Not good looking but a wonderful actress!
September 19th, 2018
You got my attention...what do you mean lambs were lost? :(
Marigold Hotel movies were fun.
September 19th, 2018
@gardenfolk The lambs were too new to survive the sudden cold temperatures and driving rain. They became what they call "slinkies' Use the virgin wool for other products
September 19th, 2018
This is so beautiful. Love it!
September 19th, 2018
I loved that film! We have a sort I'd spin off to show where elderly celebrities visit places & see if they could live there. Your view is stunning, the snow capped mountain in the distance just draws the eye just enough snow in your part to look pretty & not inconvenience anyone. Sad about all the hardships for lambs & farmers, heartbreaking to lose lambs like that.
September 19th, 2018
Beautiful! I love the colors. Was it disheartening to receive snow so close to your spring time?

I love your three good things. Sometimes attitude is everything in changing perspective from one day to the next. Your food always sounds good!
September 19th, 2018
A pretty image!
September 19th, 2018
superb view !
September 19th, 2018
what a lovely scene you have painted with the help of the fallen snow.
September 19th, 2018
@onewing Yep, Tea with the Dames it is Babs. We loved it.
September 20th, 2018
@maggiemae You must see that one MM, get a cuppa and settle back for the ride.
September 20th, 2018
@golftragic I can only get the trailer on YouTube so will have to wait until its shown somewhere else! Looks great!
September 20th, 2018
@maggiemae Damn, keep an eye out for it. Not a blockbuster, of course, but bliss for fans of the Dames.
September 20th, 2018
@happypat We got that spinoff too, loved it.
September 20th, 2018
My first sighting of snow...and don't even want to think about it. we went from 90 degrees F in the shade to 62.6 in the afternoon the following day.
September 20th, 2018
