Sitting at my desk I wanted to try using a very near and new rose growth with the background of our garden which includes bokeh - tulips and rhodos adding to the bokeh.
1. We love our neighbours and as such, are so lucky. On one side is a policeman’s wife - so willing to help but she fainted recently and has lost her licence for a whole year! She’’s not old but so independent. Just hope we can help some time!
2. On another side is an immaculate gardener with her husband who washes his car every second day. She leant over our fence and said, “hello neighbour’ as you do!
3. The third side is a lady who lives alone, loves horses, washing often on the line… and she cut our dividing hedge!
Well you are truly blessed with your neighbours Maggie, there's nothing so awful I believe than ones you do t get on with. We had no house in sight at our other farm so it's only here we have encountered neighbours for the first time. We are lucky though as the whole lane gets on fine. Only one house were we are a bit wary but on surface fine. Lots of rose buds to grow & scent your lovely garden. No green fly there yet!
It's so nice to have good neighbors. Ours are pretty good too. One side an older woman with two dogs whose family visits often. She's only renting but treats the place like it's her own. The other side a single man who cared for his mum for many years. He keeps the place up nice and burns all the twigs and branches Jeff picks up for us when he's working in the yard and burning his. We owe him dinner for keeping us plugged in his generator when the power goes out! We don't know the folks across the street that well- they'e a little rough around the edges, upset me a little bit when they cut down so many trees and have an obnoxious outdoor light that goes off when anything moves in front of it, BUT they are mostly quiet, say hello once in a while, and when Jeff left the light on in his van a while back, knocked on the door to inform us about it. So, all in all, we do have a nice neighborhood. None of us have roses! Lovely shot.
A stunning capture of the Rose in making and wonderful bokeh. Our Roses seem to be at a similar stage, as I took some shots of the new growth too. Love the new shades on the bushes. 1,2,3 sounds amazing and important to have around.
Pretty capture and wonderful neighbors! What a delight! Two of our neighbors are the opposite, unfortunately. On one side they would always leave the hose their row of trees, forget and flood our yard. They also have broken every finial on our vinyl fence next to their driveway..no replacements are available. And, one of the neighbors behind us wouldn't let us buy trees, plant them and mow the strip of grass next to our driveway so we would have shade on our driveway, garage and the west side of our house. He also was the only hold out when all our individual mailboxes were taken our by a driver so instead of a nicely constructed joint mailbox a neighbor offed to build us for 4 families, we each had to do our own. Consider yourself very very lucky! :)
@gardenfolk Sounds like a friend of mine who's neighbours came on to their property while they were out and cut down their trees! Its a horrible feeling. You always are thinking of a way to get your own back, or improve things!
