The Ring by maggiemae

The Ring

I spent several hours on Utube videos on my specific camera. It was helpful - all I Ihave to do is remember! But I can play them again.
Three good things:
1. Macro was the biggest challenge for me and I actually got this very small ring in focus. It belonged to my sister who is gone but she has left me with lots of beautiful jewellery!
2. John is much better after a heavy night of coughing - affects me too but I don’t have the negative energy of coughing to contend with.
3. A new book keeps me on the couch with my feet up!
A beautiful and dramatic image . Great dof , light and colour hues with a great focus on the ring ! fav

A lovely ring maggie, it will be precious to you. I like your edit on the focus. Glad the cough is on the mend, it is exhausting coughing! I’m reading The Moon Sister, number 5 in the The Seven Sister series. It came out last week.

@happypat Oh, lucky you - I'm going to wait for it to be in the local library! The ring unfortunately is too small for me!

Spectacular photo. Very dramatic in every respect.

Good to know John is on the mend and reading a book with your feet up sounds like the perfect way to spend an afternoon

i love your retro colours , fabulous maggie

@phil_howcroft Thanks Phil! Yes,they are retro colours and don't really know how they popped up. The stone in the ring itself is a turquoisy green.

@summerfield I didn't read the book or see the film at all, Vikki - but do know there is some significance with a ring!

@rontu I think every time I try to do something out of the ordinary, I learn something, Linda! You just can't be too old to learn!
November 8th, 2018
@pamknowler Its really quite small and you hardly see the colour of the stone, Pam - so its good to see in macro which enlarges it!

A fabulous image and wonderful editing, the rest has all been said above. Fav

@casablanca @golftragic If I read the book it might help! Maybe I'll have to now!
November 8th, 2018
@maggiemae You'll have to be up for the challenge.......it is rather long and infinitely detailed!
November 8th, 2018
@casablanca I'm reading a summary of them at the moment! Reminds me of Pilgrims Progress!
November 8th, 2018
@maggiemae Ah, some interesting parallels with that!
