The name Cable Bay arose from New Zealand's first overseas cable link, to Australia, which was opened on 21 February 1876. We enjoyed our time here in spite of no cellular coverage and difficulty with the wifi. This is an island here that is called Pepin Island, privately owned and for sale at$16m!
Three Good Things:
1. Did a big washing.
2. Quite a bit of rain - good for this area which has recently had some huge fires.
3. Learnt that Canada had grounded 737 Max8 planes - my son flies them for a Company in Canada.
The colors are quite deep and rich in this place. Nice shot. Hopefully the reason for that grounding kept your son safe and they'll be up in the air again once the issue is resolved.
Oh wow - this brings back some happy memories. I have spent many hours of many days wandering in and around Cable Bay or kayaking around Pepin Island. You have captured it well. Thanks for the memories.
Nice to know the island is for sale. If I get an extra $16 million I just might buy it! Good to know your son is safe, sorry he may not be working for a while. Fantastic photo of your area
