Rhodo's right next to the window..

Our rhododendrons are budding all the time now. We have about 12 or 14 - losing count and counting in the middle of the night is not the best!
My iPhone gets a shot that is so beautiful. But have found it doesn’t have some good things - zoom and correct focus.
thankful for;
A library visit and two very good books to take with me on our next outing…..zzzz!
Stunning capture and gorgeous colour. Shutterbug is the expert on iphone 11 pro, she even gives lessons. Maybe you should get in touch with her 😊

Living in Southern California has its perks. But unfortunately, rhododendrons are not among them. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely photo. Fav.

@mbrutus Thats right - they prefer cooler temperatures but like the light and enough moisture!

Beautiful details. Was it the DoF you aren’t happy with or what about focus? You are definitely right about zoom. 2X zoom is only good for getting better closeups, which is fortunate for me, but not for some people.

@ludwigsdiana Thank you.

@shutterbug49 Zooming in lost focus. My other cameras were so much better. However the best in the phone was to get f2 or less on it.

@maggiemae IPhone camera definitely takes a different mind set and it won’t replace a DSLR for many shots, but it can do a great job on flowers. Iphone lenses have fixed aperature. Using AE/AF lock is the best way to get precise focus with “depth” in your photos with an iPhone. For flowers I use 2X, then press and hold on the spot I want to focus on until AE/AF lock comes up. It should give good focus where you pressed and a varying amount of depth depending on the distance of the other objects. If you try to “zoom” past the 2, you will really be cropping the photo.
