Silver again.. by maggiemae

Silver again..

I used a recipe for cleaning silver.. water brought to boil with a crumpled ball of tin foil in it then adding baking soda. I did 1 TB then a bit more and a bit more.
It looked the same until I used a little bit of Silvo and the tarnish polished right off! Then it was into the dishwasher so we don't get Silvo poisoning or baking soda syndrome!
Thankful for:
We didn't!
well that spruced those right up!

Fascinating! Butlers always used to use bicarbonate of soda and elbow grease. Well done you!

Oh my your silverware looks wonderful! I guess the first dip loosened up the tarnish for the Silvo. Always feels good to get the silver polished!

A beautiful collection, Maggie.

I like how you've set them all out Maggiemae. Remember the days when my mum used to clean the brass - and smell of the Brasso.

@louannwarren That's exactly right - it loosened the tarnish. Previous efforts with just silvo didn't work!
