A bit worrying! The skip was delivered today. Our wonderful youngish neighbour on her own, looks after her property, is quiet and neighbourly. Her father who had a bigger property down the road has died and I fear she is going to shift down there. Good for the horses she loves. The house is basic, unrenovated, broken windows and old. If she sells it, the only people who would want it would be a young couple with children! Help, loud children, loud vehicles! Or, on the other hand, someone might buy it for pulling down and putting up new units! That means building noises for at least 2 years!
Thankful for:
The peace and quiet at the moment!
Oh dear that’s looks like change fir whatever the reason! Perhaps she is just having a clearing out do before doing her place up....fingers crossed but I agree it’s not looking good. I dare say you will find out very shortly! 😨
Fingers crossed your new neighbours will be good ones. We had an empty block of land next door to us for 18 years and then the land was sold and we worried as to who would be building on it. Luckily a single storey 4 bedroom house was built. The builders didn't make much noise during the build and our new neighbour is a lady called Donna who like us is in her latter years. She lives alone although her daughter and grandchildren live only a few miles away and Donna looks after the children occasionally. The children are so well behaved and we don't hear any noise. Donna is such a lovely neighbour too. We are so lucky to have her as our friend and neighbour.
@maggiemae Oh I do hope so! I think all our new neighbours are quite relieved that we are moving in here as the size if the garden warranted building a much larger house or even two but we aren’t making much difference here as the garden is very important to us as it is.
Frustrating to speculate. Perhaps the new owners will be someone looking to settle down in a quiet neighborhood. I for your sake I hope it is not a distressing time.
@happypat We are the same - our property could easily have a unit built on it but we love the garden! Of course, we could buy the next door house, and either renovate and sell or pull it down and make a bigger garden!
@yolanda If we don't like the look of prospective buyers we could convey the information that the neighbours hold noisy parties and dance naked on the lawn?
Sadly those kinds of changes seem inevitable but you may end up with some very nice neighbors if she sells, so here's hoping it turns out to be a win-win situation for everyone.
