into the best coffee machine within my budget. In the past I've had numerous methods and equipment and they never make the coffee I want to produce. I realise the freshness of the beans is most important. This one will actually make two cups!

@beryl I think this is something that the Italians have done so well! My spirits are good, thank you Beryl. I enjoy being on my own (semi) John is often in the bed and I like to leave him alone mostly!
But the sad truth, from one coffee drinker to another, is that coffee *never* tastes as good as the freshly-roasted beans smell! Of course, that doesn't mean we stop trying! :)
I used to love the smell at the A&P store when my mother would grind a pound of coffee beans. I never learned to like coffee (I'm a tea drinker myself) but the aroma of the beans, which I would stand and inhale from the open bag when we got home, is one of the strongest memories of my childhood. If this machine enhances your daily ritual, I say Go for it!
This looks exciting! Coffee machines are very alien to me! They scare me....I have a Duolit coffee maker which worked fine for the b&b as it kept it warm. A percolator type. I will await the verdict! Hope you both feel better soon & bounce back full of good coffee!
