Transfixed..

We were transfixed today with 4 hours of Prince Philips Funeral! If that was a family funeral, what would be a "State" funeral? However, it was a master of pageant and tradition and wonderful to see. How much work and practice went into that!
Thankful for:
My photo of the TV screen turned out well!
It was amazing to watch, such a sad day for the Queen.

@ludwigsdiana Yes, when you think of the personal inside of this woman, not the public outside.... it makes you want to hug her!

I missed the actual event on television, but have watched the highlights. It really was a beautiful ceremony and probably much nicer that a 'state' funeral. Well captured image of your tv screen!

Such a beautiful service to watch - my heart went out to the little black figure all alone in her memories and grief -

A beautiful capture & Maggiemae I felt I wanted to hug her, she seemed so vulnerable there on her own...

I missed it and really wanted to watch. Your account makes me kind of glad I didn’t watch it. She was my mother’s age and that would have made it more personal for me I think. I like your photo but it definitely tells what an isolated event it was.

I watched it on BBC, it was beautiful, the Queen was so lovely, my heart ached for her having to sit alone, though.

Beauty in the traditional. I do feel for the queen. So sorry for the country’s loss.

Harry & I had been out all morning so we were glad to settle down &watch every bit. The simplicity & solemness of it all was just beautiful. I’m sure the Duke himself would have been extremely pleased his arrangements had been followed so well. That lone piper & the thing that fascinated me was the footwork...the piper & the pall bearers...incredibly in sync. The Queen will be bereft but will be doing her duty as normal I’m sure...the show must go on.. very sad for her....I’m sure the family will al rally round but it’s the night times isn’t it.

@happypat I too was so impressed by the footwork and the beauty of the Park, Think how many people had to dress to prepare! Poor Queenie - on her own at that age!

@yaorenliu Thank you Yao - not everyone might be aware of that. We were all so proud - imagine how his parents in Dunedin felt!
