Learning..

Various magnolia flowers open over a long period. One right in the corner issued a challenge - so brightly white yet in dark surrounds. I tried normal - the flower had no definition. I tried a faster speed, too much grain. I tried a higher ISO and hey presto it worked with that faster speed.
Thankful for;
Thunder and lightning made the afternoon exciting - we were safe inside and had a fire on for the first time this year!

Most magnolias here only flower in the early Spring in fact I didn’t know some had a longer flowering period. They are such classy trees.

Good idea. I can see some grain in the white petals if I zoom in, but it has more of a highlighting effect. I think it works well.
