Protuberance by maggiemae

Protuberance

More a protuberance than a flower but this is what our Yucca type plant does at this time!. Its real name is Mexican Lily but no more looks like a lily than a rocket going to the moon. Botannic name is Beschorneria Yuccoides, also known as Mexican Lily, has clusters of strappy green foliage. Pink-red flowers with a trailing habit appear during spring. Sun lover, drought-tolerant.
Thankful for:
"The bees are stirring—birds are on the wing ... and I the while, the sole unbusy thing, not honey make, nor pair, nor build, nor sing.'" Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
Love the inter-weaving of pink and green.

Especially when I was visiting the campus greenhouse, I was often fascinated how leaves unfurl and flowers emerge and open. How “life” happens is so often a wonder!

@rhoing That is so right, Thom! Particularly with this flower - all the flowers are yet to emerge!
