LOL! I did NOT achieve my goal here. Too many obstacles to overcome and it will require a different setup to make the tiny fountain as big as the life-size birdbath. So I settled for this shot for today and will attempt to achieve my goal later on.
Hey Mags - I usually take a telephoto lens to "shorten the perspective", bring near and far together and distort proportion. I'm sure there are other solutions. Like the shot!
@ronphotos365 Thank you very much, Ron! I have a telephoto for my film camera, but not for my little Kodak digital. LOL! I need to get a table to set up the fountain on and move and position the birdbath accordingly without a terrible distracting background. The background clutter was my biggest obstacle today. I had just cleaned and filled up the birdbath so I didn't want to move it.
@binny LOL! This setup would not have achieved my goal. I gave up because of a cluttered background down in the yard. I have to move the birdbath away from the screenhouse so I can get the shot I want. Thank you, Binny! It was about $5 at Wally World. =)
Actually I like what you've done here. Fab focus on the little fountain (my son got me one of these for Christmas, btw) and I love how you captured the soft focus in the background & the framing of the branch. The bird bath is a plus. My suggestion for what it's worth ;-) --- never say anything negative about your shots b/c I've found them to be some of the best. A fav for me on this one!
