The stump grinder... by marlboromaam

The stump grinder...

Shot on 3/2 when the tree people came. Took this guy over three hours to grind down this sweet gum tree stump. It was almost three feet across and had roots going every which way. He still didn't get it all and left me with a huge mound of wood chippings to spread around which I haven't had time to do yet.
Stumps — grrr! But when the tree has to come out, that's what's left to deal with. :-\

@njmom3 Thank you, Nada! It's not a great pic, but it documents the work. =)

I never knew how grueling tree work is.

@sherimiya I think it depends on what has to be done. The guys who topped and trimmed six trees, and cut two small ones down - were here and gone in less than two hours. This guy, well - he just used his hand-held control to make the grinder do what needed to be done.

Now that’s a serious piece of machinery.
