Velvet cover... by marlboromaam

Velvet cover...

Had to include a seed pod from the wild wisteria. Tried to capture the velvety green texture of it. Sometimes, I like to save a few of the pods to try to plant the seeds elsewhere. Last year, I put the saved pods in a plastic bag and left it on the back counter. About November or December, I kept hearing a popping noise! It scared me - I thought something was wrong with something electrical some where... Then I realized it was the pods popping open inside the bag, because that's what they're supposed to do when the seeds are ripe and ready. LOL!
Beautiful shot, love the dof ... Funny story too made me smile :)

Priceless story, Maggie. . .and what a lovely shot. The depth of focus is just wonderful on the pod with that soft peach-fuzz-like texture.

July 29th, 2012
that is really funny. now that is something different about the wild wisteria, mine don't get pods like that...their pods are more like a pea pod. This is a really pretty shot...kind of looks like a pear
July 29th, 2012
@vickisfotos LOL! Thank you, Vicki! It's very flat though. Think of "pole beans."
July 29th, 2012
the shot makes it look pearish...wow, flat...then it i like my wisteria, but mine are in peapod shape...I like these in pear shape
July 30th, 2012
@vickisfotos LOL! They form many different shapes. No two are the same!
July 30th, 2012
Lol, now that would be me! But you did capture the velvety-ness of this pod, and it does give the impression that it is pear shaped. Nice one!
