My neighbors' seasonal pond... by marlboromaam

My neighbors' seasonal pond...

Viewed from the road. It's covering more ground after all the rain we got. Normally it's just grass that gets mowed in the spring and summer. Now it's full of thousands of tadpoles! Still waiting to see what sort of birds will make meals out of them. A little series of shots on the eastern spade-foot toad (hundreds of them) that was breeding in this pond begins here - https://365project.org/marlboromaam/my-2nd-365/2021-02-19
It must be very noisy when they all become frogs ;-)

As you say it’s going to be a real feast for someone.

Interesting how nature works, those toads found their way to this made up pond. Must be nice to see them.

@ludwigsdiana I don't think they'll sing much. They'll get eaten or go underground until the next deluge of rain.

@wakelys Yes, ma'am!

@dutchothotmailcom I think they were already underground here where the pond is located and surfaced with the deluge of rain to breed.
