Crypticon -- Halloween Party on Steroids

I was looking forward to taking lots of great photos at Crypticon (horror movie con) in Minnesota. Then my camera died. Alternated between not turning on at all and occasionally turning on, but not focusing. Teasing me when we got home by turning on and VERY briefly taking a few focused pictures. I don't know if it can be fixed, but I'll check into that sometime if I can get to Topeka and Wolfe's Camera. In the meantime, most of my Crypticon pictures were taken with the iPod. Since it's not very good with indoor pictures, I've run these, taken the evening of the costume contest and dance, through the ToonCamera app to give them a comic book look. I'm tagging it for the current MFPIAC collage challenge -- the theme of which is Halloween.

The only one that I didn't photograph on a person is the wolf man mask. It had been worn the night of the costume contest, but I didn't get a shot of it. So I snapped it as it sat on a foam head on the table of the creator (Troy Holbrook). Troy used it for his makeup demonstration at one of the sessions (which I also missed) and used his father as subject. Note the hair clips. Reduce the scare factor a bit, don't they? I'm sure they were not used in the finished makeup job. It was his dad I was talking to when I took this shot. My son, Dan, is the one wielding the chain saw.
Very imaginative.

Crypticon sounds like a great place for photographers to hang out.
