Unoccupied corner in the Metropolitan Museum of Art

Honestly, you'd think I'd post something more exciting/attractive from the Met. I might. But this empty pedestal with nothing being displayed in the empty white-walled corner caught my eye, and I had to take a picture. I kind of liked the starkness of it, and the clean lines.
It is a work of plain clear AIR! Conceptual art at its best.:):)

@joysabin And here I thought it was missing an art piece -- resting up between exhibits etc. Silly me! Air, of course!

Well, you got me. I thought it was a piece of art. That's how much I know about art.

@randystreat ha ha -- anything goes in the modern world of art, and I'm pretty sure something like this has been constructed as art. But this was just an empty corner with a pedestal not currently displaying anything. At least I THINK that was the case! :-)

@randystreat PS I changed the title and description a bit to make it more clear. In all fairness to the Met, I'd hate for a casual glance at this to lead to the wrong impression of their collections. It's really an amazing, (and huge) place
