I took this picture Sunday and meant to post for my get pushed challenge to shoot natural diagonals. It’s Monday now and I just realised I didn’t post this or the other I’m now posting retroactively.
I love the looks of this wild plant and specifically wanted to be sure it was not eradicated when our yard was redone after our house was renovated & added onto. At that time there was just a little of it by the back area where we park our cars. I had no idea it could be so invasive. I still like the looks of the little short-lived rosy purple blossoms (not visible here), but now I find myself digging it out of places I don’t want it. And I’m discovering that it puts down deep sturdy taproots, so it will probably keep coming back.
It is a pretty plant - and it does look so invasive! I made the mistake of gathering some wild ferns from the woodlot on our farm to plant in a shady spot in my garden, not realizing how invasive they are. I even put them in a pot to keep the roots contained but they managed to get out of that and are running rampant.
