I wanted to photograph apples or tomatoes or something equally red to finish my red week, but when I went to the store, I forgot. So instead I’m posting this — the driver’s side of the same truck I posted earlier this week.
@allsop red #7 forgot to tag you yesterday on the two I posted yesterday, so did it today. Sorry for the multiples at the same time. Are you sick of the color by now?
So sorry for the delay, Mary. I have been busier than a one-armed paper hanger (hope you are familiar with this expression, lol!!)
I keep telling myself that life will settle down soon but it does not seem to happen.
Your challenge is to try the "contre-jour" lighting method - which just basically means shooting into the light. But - it does not mean silhouettes, which is the tricky part.
Google the term and you will find a ton of info on it as well as some really nice images of this effect.
To start you off - here is a link to an interesting article on it: http://imageexplorers.com/shooting-contre-jour/
@mcsiegle Hi Mary. I have been paired with you for the upcoming get-pushed-376. I have been going through your photos and they have been bringing back memories. I grew up and spent most of my working life about 800 miles straight north up I29, just across the Canadian border, and have traveled through the Central States quite often.
When I lived on the prairies the autumn was my favourite time of year. I enjoy memories such as the crisp mornings after an early frost, watching the machinery bring in the harvest, the fall suppers, walking with my dog along the fence rows looking for prairie chicken, the smell of the leaves in the autumn air. If I could stop the clock, it would be in the autumn.
So for your challenge this month, would you take a photo that will capture the nostalgia of the prairies in the autumn.
