Whoa! A rift in the space-time continuum

Quite obviously NOT my photographs. See copyright Google at the top.
So...I got these images off my phone a good while back. I probably was looking at some photos posted by either Kitty Hawke @cutekitty or Swillin' Billy Flynn @swillinbillyflynn and dreaming of traveling to Cornwall.

Someday...but instead I did the next best thing. I decided to take a virtual walk around Mevagissey, courtesy of Google Maps Street View, and see if I could walk past the store they used to own, The Lavender Pillow. I got the address off the web site and set off. Imagine my horror when right in front of the shop a huge rift in the space time continuum occurred. In one split second my virtual self was just past the shop one direction and then WHOOSH I was just past it on the other side. Fortunately/unfortunately I was not really standing there.

I say fortunately, because I would have hated to actually get sucked in like some of those poor folks were, at least momentarily -- stretched almost beyond recognition. I was so startled that, as it was happening, I kept my finger on the photo button and ended up with these (and other) pictures of the phenomenon.

Unfortunately, because I really, really, really would like to visit Cornwall. And typing this reminds me I haven't. For those who, like me, also haven't visited Mevagissey, I should point out that the bits of jagged, collapsing-in-on-itself lavender wall in the pictures is the store.
@cutekitty @swillinbillyflynn I hope it was a very localized rift and all was well where you were.

@mcsiegle HAHA. this is so fab.....I blame Captain Flynn's Electric Circus for this.....he is always messing in the time zones...forever rushing backwards and forwards and leaving bits behind him in his wake..........I'm sure the Lavender Pillow will survive.......it survived 14 years of us running it !!!!!
