These are Frank’s other grandparents—his father’s parents. The fancy-looking hair comb in the center, he thinks belonged to this grandmother. At any rate he’s certain it didn’t belong to his mother’s mother. It reminds me of the Christmas story, “The Gifts of the Magi.”

The only one of Frank's grandparents I knew was his maternal grandmother. The same for him and my grandparents. He only knew my mother's mother. Maybe those mom to mom genes are the sturdiest. Those two ladies outlived their husbands by quite a long time.
