I have enjoyed finding things around my house (and at the beginning of the month, at my sister's house) that have stories of some sort. So I brought the chocolates into the downstairs bathroom to show them the old medicine bottles I have up on top of the upper cabinet. (Note to self: must get up there again and dust) Several of the bottles I got when I worked in a small independent drugstore when we first moved to Minneapolis, MN in the early 70's. On the two in the middle I can see prices written in the handwriting of the old pharmacist who had owned the store for many years. His son was also a pharmacist and helped to manage.
I became a bit concerned when I realized I only saw two chocolates and KNEW I had brought three. After I went ahead and took this shot, we finally found it down in the blue jar on the left. Fell in and couldn't get out. I eventually managed to fish it out.
That blue looks like an old Vicks bottle and I imagine that chocolate will taste like Mentholatum after being in there. You will have to join. @wakelys@30pics4jackiesdiamond with this collection of bottles.
i remember when i used to live with the ex at his mother's farm house, they were using a salve that was already 100 years old and was still quite effective. the salve was the kind you buy from the man who peddled them in a cart, along with other notions and potions and even sharpens knives and scissors as a side service.
