Wilting In The Heat_DSC7238

Today the temperature hit 39.7, so I spent most of the day inside in the airconditioning. My poor gerberas really suffered in the heat. By 8pm the temperature had only dropped to 30, but rainfall has been forecast for the next few days. Hopefully it will arrive and cool things down a bit.
Awwww...the poor thing needs a drink!

Who can blame it ;-)

The poor thing, I hope it lifts it's beautiful face to the rain when it arrives :)

I know just how this flower feels, we had a couple of days that were really hot, but it has gone to the other extreme today which is good really because we have had a huge bushfire near Newcastle Airport and the strong winds yesterday really fed the flames.

I would feel the same way in those temperatures.............thank goodness for the forecast of rain!

Ooh! Glad we are not there are present. We are nice and "cool" in Tassie! The fires the other side of Perth look pretty pretty bad, hope you get some good rain soon.

Wow! Those temperatures are similar to what we get in Texas during the summer and the same thing happens to our flowers then. Staying inside the air conditioned house is the best way to cope with the heat. Glad you have some rainfall predicted for the next few days. Your flowers will love it! :-)

Lovely and sharp.

@judithdeacon Thanks Judith, it's been raining nearly all day. What really bothers me about the fire is the belief that it may have been deliberately lit. It beggars belief that people can be so stupid!

I am dreading to see what has died in my garden when I get home.
