@dsp2 I’m wary of them and make sure that I stay away from their tails. There are also a few that come in that don’t have tails or barbs (I don’t know what happened to them.) and I much happier to be near them.
@hermann@joansmor They don't seem to have any fear of people and regularly swim into the shallows in the hope of a feed. They congregate near the boat ramp where the fishermen clean their catch.While they do have a poisonous barb, they are quite docile and only become aggressive if they feel threatened.
@deborah63 yes but he came swimming up under one which was an agressive move for them - patting them in the shallows makes it rather hard to be spiked by them. they are normally very quiet creatures :) neat shot Merrelyn!
