I Decided To Treat Myself....._DSC4590

now I hope that they'll survive.
I've just downloaded a 10 day trial for Affinity Photos and have watched a few introductory tutorials. If anyone has used it and has any tips I'd be very grateful.

Great shot of those beautiful orchids.
Hope this will be helpful:
With good care you can enjoy the flowers of your Phalaenopsis for a long time, up to more than three months. And did you know that you can bring your Phalaenopsis back into flower after flowering, with a break of about six months before the plant? We have put together a number of tips for you to enjoy the flowers of your Phalaenopsis as long as possible. These tips also help you to bloom your orchid several times.

Temperature and light
The Phalaenopsis thrives best with a minimum night temperature of 16 ° C and a maximum daily temperature of 24 ° C. The ideal daytime temperature is between 20 and 22 ° C. This orchid requires a lot of light, but does not tolerate direct sunlight, especially in the summer months. An ideal spot is a place on the windowsill aimed at the (north) east or the (south) west. When leaves turn yellow, this can be a sign of too much direct sunlight. The failure of flower buds or of dark green leaves may indicate a possible lack of light.

Water and humidity
Do not pour the water into the heart of the plant, but on the soil in the pot. Rainwater is better than tap water with (too) a lot of lime in it. Preferably give water early in the day. Even better is to immerse the pot in a bucket of water for 5 to 10 minutes. Then your orchid can safely stay for seven days without water. In its natural environment the Phalaenopsis has a high humidity. Do you want to grow or multiply the plant, then it works best in humid places, such as in a kitchen, bathroom or conservatory.

Soil and fertilization
It is important that the Phalaenopsis is in an airy soil, which ensures a moisture-containing drainage. Special orchid soil, which you can buy at most garden centers, is ideal for that. Do not use ordinary potting soil. Because there is often little food in the airy orchid soil, it is best to fertilize the Phaelenopsis through the irrigation water. Special orchid fertilizer is for sale for this. Fertilization is necessary in the months of March to October, about twice a month.

After flowering After
a Phalaenopsis has finished, you can have it bloom again. For this it is necessary to cut off the branch above the second 'eye'. By 'eye' we mean a thickening on the branch. Start counting from the bottom. If the Phalaenopsis develops aerial roots that grow outside the pot, this is a sign that the orchid is having a good time. Let the carrots just sit. You do not have to put them back in the pot. You also run the risk of damaging the roots.
