but all that I had time for. The focus on my macro lens stopped working this morning.I took it to the city this afternoon to see if it was repairable (and spent over two hours in the camera shop looking at options for Africa and then at a new macro lens. The repair would have been almost as much as I paid for the lens and nearly two thirds of the price of a new one. I came home with a new Nikon 105 macro and wondering if I can justify an Olympus mirrorless for travelling. The figures are a bit scary.
@judithdeacon The original plan has changed a bit. We fly into Cape Town May 31. The Garden Route tour leaves CT June 5 and travels through Stellenbosch, Hermanus, Oudtshorn, Knysna, Tsitsikamma NP and Kaiega Game Reserve to Port Elizabeth (9 days) . After a couple of nights in PE we head to Victoria Falls, Elephant Sands, Muan, Okavango Delta, Caprivi and Chobe NP (12 days). Then it's on to Nairobi to pick up our East Africa Discovery tour(12 days) - Lakes Naivasha & Nakura, Masai Mara, Kisii, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Arusha and back to Nairobi to fly home.
@golftragic They're east coast natives but a few were released in WA in the 70s. In some areas they've bred to pest level. If you're at Cottesloe beach at sunset you can hardly hear yourself think!
@merrelyn What a fantastic trip you have planned and what a lot of planning it must have taken! Looks like we shall just miss you, will be in CT/Paarl in early August before heading up to Namibia for a month. If you are going to be in the Paarl area do let us know, I am sure Steve's brother would love to meet up, fellow Rotarian etc.
