Petit Jean Mountain by milaniet

Petit Jean Mountain

Another of Arkansas's beautiful state parks -There is a fascinating legend to go with this one about a French girl in the early 1700's who disguised herself to work on a boat coming to America and later died on this mountain while the group was exploring the Louisiana Territory.

The picture I posted yesterday from Mt. Magazine has similar topography and is about 25 miles from here as the crow flies - lot longer by road! It still has some beautiful color even past peak.
The colours are stunning - mile upon mile of autumn foliage.

Ditto. This is just spectacular. Great color throughout. It must have been beautiful in person.
