Hard not to find a bird with a beak full of building material these days. Watched a robin building a nest in the pines this morning, while I think this guy was taking a breather on the way to his site. Love this time of year.
This is a wonderful capture Milanie. The blue bird stands out so well against the brown tones and these guys are not that easy to capture, they move so fast!
Wonderful up-close shot of the Bluejay! I finally have a pair residing in my area but I've yet to capture a descent picture of them. They're not as cooperative as your fellow here — mine make sure there are a dozen branches between them and the camera.
@lyndemc That is always my biggest problem. I can't get these guys to come to the backyard -- except in fly-throughs - but caught him down at the walking trail by the creek. These and chickadees are so hard for me to catch.
@luvmynynix I don't think it's a grapevine - but I do wonder about the curly parts - It's growing up from the side of the creek - With everything still fairly dead I can't tell things apart. (Not that I'm good there when they're green!)
Can't wait to have construction work in my backyard.
