Such a Name

This is a "Red Spotted Purple Butterfly". A definite first as I'm sure I would have remembered that name. Ordinarily, I might have skipped posting this butterfly because of its background - but you can't always get them where you want and that name intrigued me.

A stunning butterfly no doubt.As for the background, does it really matter. I recently received criticism for a unprocessed photo of a butterfly against a cloudless blue sky on a dead tree. That was what I saw on the day and that was how I chose to remember the capture. Love the focus, you have captured the iridescent blue beautifully Fav :-)
