Finally found my first butterflies of the year - had to go up on the mountain - why when I have the same flower in my backyard I'm not sure - but the Great Spangled Fritillaries were all over the coneflowers.
wow and what beauties they are! funny it's winter now and I walked around a bit trying for a 'harmony' inspiration and there were hundreds of butterflies of so many varieties about, I really noticed and thought it odd to see so many. but these a just stunners
