The Ladies Gathering Spot by milaniet

The Ladies Gathering Spot

After 6" of rain yesterday - went looking for higher ground. Took the long way home and stopped up at Mt. Magazine - the hummingbirds were active! Only spotted 2 males - and more than a dozen females.
Wonderful capture of these little winged-wonders. I can hardly imagine the mess that 6" of rain would cause. So sorry.

I have a new hummingbird feeder after finding over 20 flies in mine. I was using the disk type and the flies got in to easy. Posting a picture of mine later. But if I got one hummingbird I would go crazy. This is amazing

I love how you capture birds. I try to get hummingbirds in my backyard, and I'm always a second or two late. This is fabulous.

@vernabeth On this type, the Ruby Throated Hummingbird, which is most common around here, the male is the only one with the ruby red band around the neck. The female is solid white on the neck.

How exciting! Up here, it is not common to see more than one Ruby-throated Hummingbird at the feeder at a time. Lucky you!
