First Time

" There are no greater truths held than those preserved in a single photograph and no fonder memory cast from the image it creates. For every time the shutter falls, we steal a piece of time in hopes of reliving what we've left behind". Words of my cousin who made a VCR for me 25 years ago from some old pictures. I just had it converted to a DVD and thought this picture might go with his beginning that I wanted to share.. This just happened last night when Jerik typed his name (without help) on the computer. He then proceeded to type his nene's phone number, his mother's phone number, and his grandfather's. We had no idea he had them memorized. At barely 4, he's better than I am on the computer. All this from a little one who is classified as way behind his peers - and is in some areas (motor skills and speech being two). But definitely not in numbers or computers.
LOL! Precious capture!

Nice! And I love the quote about capturing moments.

Absolutely incredible that he knew everyone’s phone number. At four! Math skills are the most important skills of all.

A wonderful memory shot that he'll treasure in time.

So cool to see; love that he has phone numbers memorized without you knowing!

Great capture. Sounds like he could be an engineer with the number skills.

How wonderful is this! You go Jerik and prove them all wrong! My eldest son When he was in 2nd grade would write his name in a mirrored image. The teachers freaked out. Wanted to put him in special classes. One teacher yelled at him for putting the paper on desk with the holes on the right side After tearing the page out of a notebook. Josh is left handed. End of the day he graduated with honors from college and is now an airline pilot and Blackhawk helicopter pilot. Go Jerik Go

The human mind is an amazing thing- especially in children. Just when we think we've got it all figured out and labeled they surprise us! Seems to me that Jerik makes up what others think he lacks in his ability to remember things and his tech savvy. I think he will continue to surprise everyone as he grows older. And good for his parents and nene to encourage him and let him be himself while he's growing! Awesome job Jerik!

I agree with Ann above. Jerik is showing everyone he CAN do great things!

@jb030958 @olivetreeann @pusspup @rickster549 @haskar @seattlite @casablanca Do really appreciate the encouragement - he's getting a little bossy - but I take that as a good thing. He's quick to soak up knowledge and I try to expose him to as much as I can. It takes a village to raise a child - and mom's just 21 and trying her best. 99% of the time I'm glad they're here with me. :)
