2015-09-12b Fünffingerstöcke from the Steingletscher valley
Amazing view from the Steingletscher valley. Great hike, in high alpine area. Despite southerly wind (the "foehnwind" heats up our valleys in lower levels) it was freezing cold. You feel the near glacier. I had a warm jacket, but I missed my mittens.
See here the glacier, in my back... http://365project.org/mona65/365/2015-09-12
I'm still trying to pronounce the title!............................................ however, having given up I shall state that this photo is just wonderful - fresh and majestic!
An incredible landscape - fascinating how so many climates and life-forms coexist on such tight spaces, depending on where you are. I haven't been familiar with that earlier, and this fascinates me every time we go somewehre where there are mountains. Your image reminded me of that - I am never prepared to what is coming up behind the next turn of the path - snow, rain, sunshine, wind, plants, no plants etc....
@maggiemae Hi Maggie. It's difficult I know. Like: Whakarewarewa for me. You can also say fivefingersummit from the stone glacier. ;-) Thanks for your kind comment.
@vera365 Thanks Vera. I grew up with it, but still it excites me. Looking round the corners and beeing amazed, by this beautiful world. And by the way, this place is just a 4 hour drive south of where you live.
