Taken on a long and strenuous but varied ridge hike with a magnificent panorama, where plenty of positive and negative altitude metres had to be covered. This is probably not the greatest picture, but it is showing a special weather situation we have often here in Switzerland. Actually there are two weather situations fighting with each other. Once the Föhnwind (or Foehn) a type of dry, warm, down-slope wind from the Mediterranean that occurs in the lee of the mountain range. And second the cold air and ground fog (a prominent inversion layer), trying to roll in. A battle to watch for hours…
