2019-06-18 hitching a ride

Great Crested Grebes with two chicks hitching a ride.

Actually I was down at the lake, to hopefully capture some clouds from the approaching thunderstorm. But then I saw this pair of Grebes with their chicks,... and even it is not a good capture, I liked the family picture.

Great colours and such a lovely calm background. You've got the 2 birds positioned just right and for some reason, my eye is drawn and delighted by the grasses just poking through the water bottom left. Great

@angelar Hi Angela, thanks for your comment. It made me smile, because the grass you see is my signature I always try to hide a bit. When there is water in the picture I like to make little boyancies out of them. So I have to overthink this... 😉
