A tiny piece of "spanish moss" from a wintery decoration, and its shadow, writing about the beauty of nature.
Interesting for me: What's in a name? In English it is called Spanish Moos, in Latin Tillandsia usneoides, usneoid meaning "resembling Usnea", a lichen. While it superficially resembles a lichen, it is neither a lichen nor a moss, and it is not native to Spain. Ha, got it.
In my language it is called Luisianamoos, "moss from Louisiana". According to an Indian legend, Louisiana moss is the hair of a princess who was killed by enemies on her wedding day. The grieving groom is said to have cut it off and hung it in a tree. The wind carried away the hair and spread it all over the country.
