Well, thats what we call in my language a "Zirkel" and this was the first thing that popped into my little mind, when thinking about "circle" as theme for the first flash-of-red week this Feburary.
I'm way over half a century old, but today I learned that a Zirkel, is a "compass" in English. ??? Nevertheless it produces circles, so here have a Zirkel, from a set that belonged to my husband's Granddad Albert (Äpäpä) and it was given to M. some 30 years ago as keepsake.
Let's see what I learn tomorrow. Maybe I have a look in my Cassells Wordbook, and find out what a Kompass is called in english. 😉 Would be round anyway.
Yes! It's a compass in English. Really love how the movement of the Zirkel brings focus to the drawn circle itself. Lovely shot and great start to flash of red!
This is fabulous in so many ways, Mona. I love the narrative, and that this compass came from M's Äpäpä. I adore the movement of the compass and the general theme and image. Great work.
Language is a funny thing, isn't it?
