Yesterday, Mum and I spent from 11am until 4pm working on the the Traffic Signaling Box. We were relieved that nobody had tagged it and then there was the templates I had designed to draw on it.
After that we began painting. Because there was so much old glue and other interference, we had some problems, but nothing we couldn't handle.
At around midday, I took off to the service station across the road and on the way back, I saw a gorgeous 1960 Thunderbird! And there was me there without my camera! So, I asked if they could wait for a few minutes while I raced and got it and they were nice enough to (I'll upload the photos over the next few days; they're just too lovely to put into a collage).
Lunch was provided by Dad - who came and ate with us. He brought pies and veggie pasties - and we all watched as a tow-truck almost rear-ended a sedan on Kingston Road! It was scary to watch on knowing we couldn't do anything... and yet the driver of the sedan couldn't do anything but run a red light to avoid the accident!
The day wore on and we found that once we drew on the stalks and painted them white, that was the end of us. It was time to go home.
From the traffic lights, I realised I needed to make the leaves on the stalks bigger. And I will next time we work on it.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
