Today I buried Little Miss Stevie. She's been in my freezer for 2 months exactly to the date. So, I thought to lay her to rest exactly two months after she passed away; and chose my Small Leaf Jade (better known as a Money Tree) to bury her under. The pot is new and I bought new potting mix too - good quality stuff too.
Mum and Dad came over for the afternoon and I'm glad they did because they were a wonderful support. I found it hard to bury my little bird, but it was good closure and it's made it easier for me to move on.
Later in the year, I'll be getting myself another bird - another little budgie. :D

Awwww, sad, but what I sweet tribute. I did the same with my little Tweetie Pie parakeet when I was 13 yrs old....had a formal burial and cried my eyes out for a couple weeks. It's always so tragic to lose a pet.
@tesssa@digitalrn@cimes1 thank you all for your lovely comments. I have been saving up money to do this tribute to my dear little bird for a while now; and I'm thankful I have been able to make it as good as I did.
Now she's laid to rest, I'm going to continue cleaning out my house and finish the job I started with it after she passed away (which has kept me busy since her passing). Then, later in the year, I'll look into getting another bird; but not too soon.
