Yesterday was a big day for me. I went out to my Craft Group for the last time this year; and this meant giving my Tie Cushion to my Secret Santa person. How exciting!
Well, Bernie loved it! It was one of the biggest presents there - and so it wasn't wrapped up like the others. She took one look at it and wondered how a painter could sew. But everyone marveled at the ties, at their designs and colours.
I went over to her and said it only took me 4 months to do, otherwise it's been sitting in my home office on a chair waiting for today. She said it's just lovely to look at and doesn't know where'd she put it in her home where it couldn't get damaged...but it's good there's a zip at the top so she can replace the filling when the time comes.
Otherwise, my little cushion (the main picture) was done by one of the ladies who I sit with - Ann Palmer. Isn't it cute? I love it! the back of it is in the bottom left there with the Christmas tree. Nell also gave us girls some other things - but didn't take part in the Secret Santa.
But the food that was there! Wow! What a great selection! We had so much to eat it truly felt like Christmas Day.
However, a storm was on its way, and some of us - me included - decided to leave at around 2pm to get home early. But I decided to drop in on a friend instead over at Logan Central. We spent the afternoon chatting and watching the storm blow over us in a lot of thunder and lightning.
What a tiring day... but it was a good day nonetheless.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
@wendyfrost Thanks Wendy. It was a great day. I'm so tired today that I think I'll just potter around the house and chill out... I'm going out tomorrow and getting other things done and ready for next week's payday... woohoo! Christmas is really happening around us isn't it?
