Flowering Agave by mozette

Flowering Agave

This morning, I stepped outside to warm up in the sun to find this! This Agave is planted next to my carport and so has been there for a long time... we've tried to pull it out, without success (and that nearly destroyed the back end of a truck because of the strong root system!). But well... now look at it! Isn't it gorgeous?

Well, I just Googled around and found out that when an Agave does this, it means it's about to up and die... just as well, the Body Corporate wants to get rid of it.

I wonder what kind of gorgeous floral display we'll be shown as its Swan Song?
Lovely plant a shame it 's life is nearly over.We had a mature yucca tree in the garden that was killed by the freezing weather but was very difficult to dig up the large root in the end my son-in -law used his chain saw to chop it to bits and then we poured neat strong root killer into some holes he drilled in it. It seems to have gone for good now.

@wendyfrost Wow! Well, I just hope one of my annoying neighbours doesn't stuff with this one... yeah, in every unit complex, you have that neighbour who destroys plants because they think it's going to do something and kill off another plant (or some insane thought process of theirs). Well, I have a neighbour who lives nowhere near this and without a doubt, she'll interfere with this lovely plant; when I have already told the Body Corporate that it's on its way out.... just this lovely big flower to go, and it'll die.
