Fading by nickspicsnz

Fading

Can you believe we're at the end of January already? We're already two thirds of the way through official summer and these hydrangeas are starting to fade - probably due to strong sunlight and no rain, as much as anything.

Where does the time go? Flash of Red Feb starts again tomorrow thanks to @olivetreeann, and it only feels like yesterday that we finished the last one.
Wonderful close up! Great textures and dof.

A lovely image of the faded beauty. I noticed my hydrangeas are doing the same - they were so wilted the other day that I had to use some precious tank water to revive them.

I like the way hydrangeas change colour as they're dying, even when dead they can still be photogenic

Lovely detail. Sharp in the right places

Love that you have blue ones! I have only ever had pink. I had a neighbour once who put rusty nails around the base of his and it turned it blue, so I guess the difference is acid content in the soil.

It’s a beautiful image even though the colour has faded. It doesn’t seem fair that as we’re looking forward to and seeing signs of spring, you’re heading towards winter. I can’t believe it’s the end of January either.
