I was going to post another lavender farm photo today but then this beauty came into our living room and landed by a window. Of course before I put her back outside I had to take some photos. After Googling I think I've found out it's a native Yellow-Spotted Dragonfly rather than a juveline Bush Giant Dragonfly. She's a female because she has two straight terminal appendages rather than claspers. This short video clip from BBC Earth gives some interesting info about dragonfly sight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5XUdvBO_TE&list=UL8OAY6xdLb3I&index=996
@jaybutterfield Thanks. It was just shot with my macro lens. The awkward bit was holding the camera, trying to use the back button focus and press the shutter using one hand while the other hand was holding the curtain back so I could see her, lol!
