I drove out to Lake Tarawera to have a look around and take some photos while Sean was mountain biking.
Mount Tarawera is in the background. It's a volcano that last erupted in June 1886. It buried several villages and sadly about 120 people lost their lives. Key tourist attractions - the Pink and White Terraces - were destroyed in the eruption.
