This was once a thriving small town with two flour mills and lots of people working in a local mine. However, today the mine and mills are closed down and, being quite rural with few employment options nearby, the population has fallen to about 200 people. This year the school has just 4 pupils. All the shops and businesses have closed down and are starting to look quite derelict. It did seem, though, that a couple of the buildings have people living in them, even though they have broken windows and the roofs don't look particularly weather tight. The shop at the top left hand corner sounds like it was quite interesting. On the side wall it's adverting its offerings as takeaways, groceries, souvenirs, haberdashery, stationery, gifts, snacks - quite a mix!
