I can't decide if I like this or not... It snowed last night... I stayed up late waiting for the church on the corner to turn off their lights (they mess up the scene) and the cars to stop rolling by... and today I played with a half dozen different crops and edits in nik sfx... ultimately i think what i really need to do is find a better place to shoot from - but driving on the snow-covered streets at 1am with a burgeoning migraine did not seem like a very good idea last night ;p
Snow makes everything so beautiful and magical. I walked the dog last night and couldn't believe how lit up everything appeared to be in that blanket of white. The almost full moon helped I guess. I like this. You did good:)!
I like it...though I've had the same problem when I've started to process my shots--another POV would have worked better. Either way, this is great, especially with a migraine.
I'm pretty jealous - snow! For me, I would crop from the large (close) tree to leave just the house in the right of the frame. A bit like this: http://i.imgur.com/KHCWR.jpg It doesn't give the feeling of expanse, but you're right, a different location to shoot from could bring across that feeling more effectively.
Your enthusiasm is fantastic to get your photo. Stay safe. You don't want to end up frozen to a camera to be discovered in a glacier a few thousand years from now. Great night scene
@cmc1200@northy I hope you at both staying on. I have just signed up for third year though, technically my 730th photo won't be till April. I was a bit slack to begin with in first year, but feel less pressured now. I enjoy exploring images but also the contact with others. We could almost write the script to a soap opera but we all get glimpses into other lives and build relationships. Perhaps this in the end is more enjoyable.
I love snow, but I don't like driving in it.
