As the "Director of Discipleship" for our church, I write a weekly bulletin insert entitled, you guessed it, Ready for the Road Ahead. Tuesday is usually my writing day (with few exceptions), so I've spent the bulk of the afternoon working on this week's installment. It's a simple process of taking a passage from the Bible and applying it to life. It seems that my life truly is "in process" right now. And just as this road seems to be leading somewhere, the destination is not yet visible. What I have come to love about this road is that it is inviting and the desitnation promises to be rewarding. It is up to me to walk in confidence because of the One who called me to walk it, or to miss out on the adventure due to my own doubt or fear. Right now, I'm in a place where I'm ready for the adventure. So, with my trusty directions in hand (the Bible), and my eyes set on the horizon (becoming more like Jesus), I'm ready for the road ahead.
Thank you Abigail and Rick. I'm glad you like the shot and thoughts. It's not always easy to walk this road, but I think (with the Lord's help) staying positive also helps you to stay young.
Lovely picture and nice narrative. I personally am agnostic, but I've always appreciated and been interested in people's faith and I sometimes actually envy it.
Thank you Lisabell- both for the compliment and your honesty. I can appreciate how you feel. We all search for a way to make life (in general) make sense. For me, this faith, had the most promise and hope and the more I learn, the more I believe it is the Truth. That's just my perspective in a nutshell (o: .
Thank you Ines- you have such wonderful compositions yourself! Isn't it fun how by just standing in a certain spot you can make a photo feel a certain way? You'd never know it by this picture, but this dirt road is across the way from a large field where corn is grown, and next to that is the Delaware River! It's a lovely valley to drive through!
